Luxury hospitality is an art. In order to teach an art, you need to make a personal investment in each of your students.

What is an Atelier?

An atelier, derived from the French word for "workshop" or "studio," refers to the private workspace of a professional artist, where the master collaborates with assistants, students, and apprentices to produce art under the master's guidance.

Historical Roots

The atelier system has deep historical roots, evolving from ancient apprenticeship models. In ancient Greece, sculptors mentored apprentices, a practice that laid the groundwork for structured artistic training. During medieval Europe, this evolved into the guild system, where small groups of students lived, studied, and worked under acknowledged master. In the 19th century, the French atelier system became prominent, especially in architecture and fine arts education. For example, the Beaux-Arts Atelier in America was influenced by the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris, attracting aspiring American architects who sought rigorous training.

Our Artistic Vision

Ateliers are notable for their mentorship-based approach, emphasizing hands-on learning and direct transmission of skills from master to student. This model fosters a collaborative environment where technical proficiency and artistic vision are honed through practice and guidance. The enduring appeal of ateliers lies in their ability to cultivate artistic mastery through personalized instruction and immersive learning experiences. This is the dream and ambition of Atelier 5 Star. Thank you for helping us make it happen.
