Professor Peter A. Jones MBE 

Professor Peter A. Jones MBE is an internationally recognised authority in hospitality education with over four decades of experience spanning academic leadership, institutional development, and quality assurance. As Professor Emeritus at Bournemouth University and Chair of the Institute of Hospitality's Professional Review Panel, he brings unparalleled expertise in curriculum design, accreditation processes, and strategic institutional development. His career encompasses senior leadership roles, including Head of School at Bournemouth University (where he held a personal professorial chair), Principal/CEO of Blue Mountains Hotel Schools across Australia, China, and New Zealand, and Head of School at the University of West London. He has successfully led institutional reviews for quality agencies, including chairing expert panels for Lithuania's SKVC, and conducted feasibility studies and due diligence for hotel school developments internationally. He was the project director for the development and implementation of the Edge Hotel School of the University of Essex. The project included not just the development of the school but also the complete refurbishment of the Grade 2 listed property that transformed Wivenhoe House into a four-star country house hotel. This innovative development created the only hotel school in the United Kingdom, integrated with the hotel. Professor Jones's recent work includes authoring the Hotel School Future Report (2025), a global study of 37 institutions across 26 countries examining AI integration and industry partnerships. He designed and implemented Nepal's innovative work-competency-based Bachelor of Professional Hospitality programme, now franchised to six colleges. His contributions have been recognised through being made a Member of the British Empire (MBE) for services to hospitality, the Nestlé Pro Gastronomia Foundation Award, and an Honorary Doctorate from the University of West London. He currently serves as Special Advisor to EUHOFA, the International Hotel Schools Association, and holds visiting/ advisory positions at institutions in Nepal, Spain, and the UK.
